Our Doctors

Dr. Christopher Chong, MD

Dr. Chong joined Arthritis Associates in 2014. He is board-certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Chong attended medical school at the University of Hawaii JABSOM. He then completed Internal Medicine training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and Rheumatology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, OH.

Dr. Dan Cristescu, MD

Dr. Cristescu has joined arthritis associates in 2013. After completing his medical specialty training in the Northeast, he passed the rheumatology board examination that same year, in 2013.

Dr. Cristescu has completed his internal-medicine residency training in Connecticut, at Danbury Hospital-Yale University, in 2010. After working as a hospital physician for one year in Manchester N.H., he went back to training in rheumatology.  Dr. Cristescu has completed his fellowship training at Roger Williams Medical Center-Boston University and Rhode Island Hospital-Brown University, in 2013. During his fellowship, Dr. Cristescu was actively involved in research, publishing, reviewing, and writing book chapters on various rheumatologic topics. He is currently a sub-investigator in several research trials, involving the development of new therapies for various rheumatologic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, and lupus.

Dr. Cristescu is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal disorders, with a special interest in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.

When he is not working, Dr. Cristescu enjoys spending time with his wife and two little girls. He enjoys playing guitar, photography, chess and teaching kids Sunday School lessons at church.

Dr. Artur Kaluta, MD

Dr. Kaluta joined Arthritis Associates in 2022. He is board-certified in Rheumatology. Dr. Kaluta graduated from Medical University of Bialystok, Poland. He then completed Internal Medicine training at Danbury Hospital/Yale University and Rheumatology fellowship at Boston University. 

He recently moved to Colorado from Indiana where he enjoyed successful practice for over twenty years at Indiana University. 

Dr Kaluta and his family love outdoor activities and appreciate spending time under the blue Colorado sky. 

Dr. Megan MacNeil, MD

Dr. Megan C. MacNeil joined Arthritis Associates in 2006. She is board certified in rheumatology. She received her MD from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center where she graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. She completed her residency, chief residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. 

Dr. MacNeil enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys skiing, running, and swimming.

Dr. David Theis, DO

After earning his medical degree at Ohio University, Dr Theis completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO.  He then completed his Rheumatology Fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic.  After spending two years teaching and practicing medicine in Pittsburgh, PA, he has returned to Colorado to do what he loves most in medicine- taking care of patients.  Dr Theis is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and practices the scope of rheumatology, with particular focus on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.  

Outside of clinic, Dr Theis enjoys wrestling with his three sons, dancing with his daughter, and hiking with his wife.  When not pursuing hiking and fitness, his hobbies include dabbling in woodwork projects for friends and family.
